I began my sales and marketing career after I graduated from the University of Melbourne. Wanting to stay connected with the Land Down Under, I joined a Hong Kong-based agency promoting Australian properties. Knowing my way around the most liveable city in the world to find the best cafes and restaurants, that proved handy.
My interest and passion in international property grew. With the intention to grow my portfolio beyond Australia, I joined Henry Butcher Malaysia to be under Jazmine’s elite international residential property team in 2009. With Jazmine’s training and guidance, I provided sales and investment advisory services to institutional clients and individual investors. The major cities I specialize include London, Melbourne, Tokyo, Singapore, New York, Chicago, and Berlin.
I was made Senior Consultant of JLL Malaysia’s International Residential Team in 2014. Besides doing advisory work, I frequently organized and hosted market seminars with business associates such as FIABCI Malaysia, UOB Singapore, OCBC Bank Malaysia and established developers from the United Kingdom and Australia.
Over the years, I have been involved in more than 270 projects, based in London, ranging from Zone 1 to Zone 6. My London projects’ portfolio includes Woodberry Park Master Regeneration Project by Berkeley Homes, City Island and Goodluck Hope by Ballymore, One Blackfriars by St George, Avant Garde, Stratford Plaza and Stratosphere Tower by Telford Homes, 375 Kensington High Street by St Edward Homes, White City Living by St James, and The Residence by Bellway. For Australian developments, I have marketed and sold Fulton Lane by SP Setia, Easton Burwood by MRCB, 661 Chapel St by Gamuda Land, townhouse developments by Townliving, house & land schemes by Metricon, and Bowen & Queens by Wuzhong International.
With over 13 years of experience in international real estate project marketing, I am thrilled to co-found RBC with Jazmine to serve the investor community that we love.
My journey with the real estate industry began in 2000 in Singapore. I have had the privilege to be exposed to different areas of work in compulsory acquisitions, valuation, research, and management. Family reasons took me to Malaysia where I fell in love with the people and of course the food. In 2004, I joined Henry Butcher Malaysia, further widening my experience in marketing consultancy doing feasibility studies and market studies. That was a natural and crucial progression into my next role in investment advisory.
In 2006, I was tasked to set up a new agency unit and that was how I began my international property career. As the Director of International Sale, I introduced exclusive new residential opportunities from London, New York, Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne, Vancouver, and Singapore to the Malaysian investors community. With the international residential property team that I built and led, we organised many investment sales events for international properties.
Regarded as a pioneer and market leader in this area, my opinions and insights are often sought by reputable news media such as The Edge Malaysia, The Star Malaysia and China Press on the fast-moving international property market. With this, I also advised and acted on behalf of Malaysian developers, trust funds and institutions to source and acquire suitable development land, residential and commercial properties.
In December 2014, with our stellar reputation in the industry, our whole international residential property team was formally acquired by JLL Malaysia. My leadership and expertise was flatteringly recognised and I was retained as the Director. It was indeed a milestone in my career. The next chapter of my life brought me to Melbourne, Australia. I joined Berkeley Group (United Kingdom) in 2018 to support them with new market development in Australia.
Fast forward to 2020, Shelvin and I decided to form RBC to serve the very people that we love serving. I feel blessed and grateful that I am able to continuously enjoy my work in an entrepreneurial value-encompassing approach.
